Certified Fuel Gauge for Battery Pack Integration
The BQ27546-G1 is a Li-Ion fuel gauge for single-cell battery packs, requiring minimal MCU development.
It uses the Impedance Track™ algorithm to report battery capacity, state-of-charge, run-time, voltage, and temperature.
It also detects internal shorts or disconnections and supports SHA1/HMAC authentication.
The compact 15-ball DSBGA package suits space-limited designs.

One-cell li-ion/li-polymer battery protection IC
The MM3511 series are protection ICs designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, providing overcharge, overdischarge, and overcurrent protection for rechargeable lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries.
They can detect and respond to conditions such as overcharge, overdischarge, discharge overcurrent, charge overcurrent, and short circuits in single-cell lithium batteries.
Each IC integrates four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic control circuits.

The Ti 7037 and BQ27546 BMS protect a repaired iPhone from dangerous or extreme conditions
The battery flex features built-in electronic protection to prevent overheating and fire.
It monitors key parameters like voltage (up to 4.35 V) and current. During a short circuit in the battery management system (BMS) or motherboard, voltage drops while current rapidly increases, up to 2.2 A.
The BMS detects this abnormality and activates its protection mechanism, cutting off current flow at 2.8 A.
This safeguards both the battery and the phone’s internal components from potential damage.

This allows the phone to display charging status and battery percentage, indicating that the BMS is functioning properly.
The "W" and "R" labels represent I2C Write and Read operations, showing that the phone can send commands to the BMS and receive battery status information in return.
